No unless you've never had chicken pox. The liquid in the blisters can give you chicken pox if you come in contact with it. But to answer your question you can not get shingles from someone with shingles.

You are only contagious to someone who has NOT had the chicken pox and if they get it it will be chicken pox, not shingles.

The person who has it needs to keep something over the open sores to keep it from bedding and clothes. If it is on bedding and clothes you need to wash it in a disinfectant like Lysol. Please read the labels and get the right one. Not stuff you wash floors with, this says disinfectant and that you can use it in the laundry.

Shingles is most certainly contagious. It can be dangerous to pregnant women. it can harm the baby. I was a nurse for 13 years and whenever we had to take care of a person with shingles we were fully gowned, which means we were covered from head to toe.

you can only get shingles and not everyone develops them from first having chicken pox. there is now a vaccine for them so many younger kids will never ever get them. shingles itself is not contagious only the chickenpox.

yes they are contagious.it's the same virus as chicken-pox.if you havn't had chicken-pox and you come in contact with someone who has shingles you can get chicken-pox from them
