I recently moved to a new congregation and of course was accepted by the whole congregation. Friday night a brother at my halls wife died. It wasnt sudden but still sad. I bought a card to give to him and Ive been looking for some scriptures to include in the card. Is there any brothers and sisters out there that would be willing to share a few for help. Thank you

I understand that many of you have your views on my religion but please realize what Im asking and notice that it would be truely rude for you to comment about it. Thank you

Use these two Scriptures together. It's long, but very comforting.

(Isaiah 55:10-11) For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.

(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

How about this poem...

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me

"IF tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me: I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me, I know you'll miss me too: But when tomorrow starts with out me, please try to understand, than an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. He said my place was ready, In heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye, For all my life, I'd always thought i did not want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do. It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaveing you. I thought of all the yesteryears, the good ones and the bad, I thought of all that we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, Just even for awhile, I'd say good-bye and kiss you, and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized, that this could never be. For enptiness and memories will take the place of me. And when I thought of worldy things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.

But then I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. when God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden thrown. He said "this is eternity, and all I've promised you. Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.. I promise no tomorrows, but today will always last, and since each day's the same way, there's no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful, so trusting and so ture, though there were times you did some things, you knew you should not do. But you have been forgiven, and now at last you're free. so wont' you come and take my hand, and share my life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me, dont' think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

The death equipment of issues below which we are looking it further and further no longer common to stay isn't the final element for us to journey. it is not all there is to it for us. Earth will quit to be a place for persistent human suffering. The darkening night that now enshrouds all of the earth with a perilous pall is approximately to be dispelled. the recent day which could actually save on with the night is approximately to interrupt for all of the earth to alter right into a place of joyous residing for the entire human family members. All of that's no longer a remember of probability, no longer a remember of twist of destiny, no longer even a remember of a few human medical step forward. somebody greater than guy has purposed it. Psalms ninety: 2-4. in the previous the mountains themselves have been born, or you proceeded to hold approximately as with exertions pains the earth and the effective land, Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you're God. 3 you're making mortal guy bypass returned to overwhelmed remember, and you're saying: “bypass returned, YOU sons of adult males.” 4 For one thousand years are on your eyes yet as the former day whilst it rather is previous, And as a watch for the period of the night.

As one of Jehovah's witnesses you are undoubtedly aware of the
resurrection hope that we all share, and there are several scriptures
that could be of comfort to a grieving one.John.5:28,29 is one.
Rev.20:13,14-------Luke.23:43,where Jesus tells the criminal that
he will be with him in (an earthly)paradise.

"The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart. devout men are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death." Isaiah 57:1,2
I am not JW, but I have used this scripture to offer comfort to the bereaved. I hope it helps him. God bless.

THere is not much you can say to comfort them...JW is a cult that does not preach salvation and chances are unless he found it on his own he dies unsaved...sorry if this sounds rude but truth often comes across rude to people who dont want to hear it
