It really isn't that difficult. Your form should tell you the exact size and postition you need. Just don't edit the image after you take it other than for size. I would suggest having it printed on a dye-sub printer like a Kodak Picture maker

If you have a decent digital camera have a friend take a picture of you standing in front of a blue background, and step two: download into your computer with a printer/scanner/faxer hook-up to it,choose the best pictures from a photo-shop program:cut,paste,re-size it and print and you will have a high quality passport picture.

I wouldn't even attempt it if I were you - there are so many rules and regulations about passport pics now. Best thing to do is go to a well known camera shop (Whitby's or somewhere) and for about £5, they'll take a photo for you.

Go to your local supersnaps, they do it in accordance with all the new laws. I can't remember how much it was, but I know it was cheaper than going into one of the booths!

try to find a photographer who does digital pics, so you can see it before printing/ spending money. I've done mine at Snappy something (cannot remember name) I choose one out of 15 .. i think ( it wasn't main, it was my daughter)

Okay, I know this is the US site, but I followed their guidelines and produced excellent passport photos for my son. Free.
