It depends on their personal beliefs and religion has a lot to do wuth this too. I am a liberal democrat. I am also buddhist/ taoist. I beleive that no one has the right to take anyone's life. I think that if someone murdered someone (even if it is a small child) as horrible a person as that may be, I dont have the right to end their life because I am inturn doing the same. I believe in kharma and that justice carries out its own penalties. The murderer is a danger to society so hey should be sent to jail, but i do not believe in the death penalty. I can't spek for all liberals though. I would be interested to find out how others feel about this. I hope this helps you.
