A guild is, these days, a craft person's union. (It has its origin in the medieval practices of guilds, with the system of apprenticeship etc. for various professions.

The Actor's Guild of Nigeria has a pretty obvious purpose: to promote the industries that employ actors in Nigeria, and to ensure that Nigerian producers use guild members and pay union wages, etc.

They call the film industry in Nigeria Nollywood -- a take off of first, Hollywood, and then the Indian film industry, Bollywood.

If you search for news about the Actor's Guild of Nigeria, you can read about recent leadership troubles -- a President of the Guild was ousted.

(Those who think that Nigeria is nothing but con artists are really clever .)

You can bet that if it has anything to do with Nigeria and if you heard about it through an unsolicited email that you received that it is a scam, pure and simple. Wait a while and it will want money from you or need you to cash a money order it wants to send you. It's the same of sorry line of bull all over again.
