DWI stands for driving while impaired which means a breath or blood test under.08 for anyone over 21years of age. DUI is driving under the influence .08 or more on breath or blood test over 21 years of age. For people under 21 years of age any trqaceable amount of alcohol by breath or blood test will be a DUI.

it stands for alot of revenue for the state and local governments. you dont have to be drunk to get a dui or dwi, just be over the limit. if people only knew what a scam this has become, they would soil their britches. im not condoning drunk driving, but this is turning into a witch hunt. i was detained and had to go thru the stupid human tricks and breathalizer because the cops thought my cologne smelled like alcohol. i was stopped because i swerved to miss a pothole. you should have seen the disappointed look on the cops face when the results were negative.
