This apparently makes him just overweight by BMI standards, but he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him! He doesn't have a really large frame either, just medium sized, so that means he must have a hell of a lot of muscle. The only thing is, he has never set foot in a gym!

Are some people just naturally muscular? Is it genetic? He does work on a building site, could this be building up his muscles?

I'm not complaining or anything lol, I was just surprised that he came out as overweight, just goes to show BMI is mostly inaccurate.

What is it with you guys and penis talk? No I'm afraid he does not have a small penis, it is average to large. Does it help that he has a scar on his right nipple, just so you know he's not totally perfect? lol

No, the charts are meant for both genders, but I do feel they are far more accurate for women than men, taking into account most men are more mascular and have larger frames.

Yep, it's true, the BMI pretty much sucks. I was in the Navy doing the screening, and over half the guys on the ship were overweight according to the BMI... the half that went to the gym regularly! Us scrawny guys could eke past any time. Indeed, the BMI is really bad, because MUSCLE is denser than FAT, so a lard-*** could often get by where a bodybuilder would not. I knew a lot of folks that complained about it, being "big boned," or having a "wide frame" or whatever. At the time, I was sort of just doing my job, and thought they were complaining, but looking back, it's all pretty much true. Sure, some of them were overweight, but most of them were just built thick.

Construction is a pretty demanding job for some people, and it can definitely get a guy in shape. Also, some people are just born stocky: a short guy with wide shoulders is going to have trouble looking "good" and passing the BMI, whereas tall, frail dudes like me could hardly become overweight if we tried.

Unfortunately, BMI measurements can be inaccurate for the reasons you've mentioned.

I'm near your husbands size (6'0", 195 lbs.), and I rate as slightly overweight too. I do have some fat one me, but not near enough to even come close to being called overweight. But, like your husband, I, too, work in a job that's physically demanding, and builds muscle just by working every day.

The important thing is, how does he feel about his body image? And how do you feel? If both of you have a positive perception, and your husband is in good health, then you're doing alright.

He works on a building site so he has a physical job. This as well as genetics will be why he is the way he is.

I know peolple like that and all of them have jobs that work their muscles.

BMI index is too general and doesn't take into accound someone who has a lot of muscle tissue.

He's a lucky Ba$tard and i'm very jealous!

Sure, his job working on a construction site is probably what's keeping him fit. That BMI stuff and also the average weight to height all that stuff is just what it is "average". Everyone's body is different. Your hubby just happens to have a great one that defies the averages.

I hate him on principle alone- Yes genetics has a lot to do with it. He has clearly been blessed with good genetics. The rest of us have to work at it. Any chance he has a small penis? That would make me feel better.

I also work on a building site. You don't build up muscle you constantly use them. they are always under tension and so make you look dammed fine...

Because we are always active we burn off a lot of calories and so fat is used up. Helps us to look mean and tone up the "Butt Crack" lol
