with women that aren't as good looking, or downright ugly?
I mean, I know looks aren't everything, but at least TRY to go a step up - not down!

cuz they're assholes and don't care! all they want is sex! it doesn't matter how beautiful you are they think with their other head! sorry guys but yall know most of yall are like that!

Believe it or not there is a tendency for "beautiful" women to be dull and/or in love with their own self's. So man who thought beauty was everything until he found out it was, as they say, only skin deep. Just because a woman is beautiful on the outside, doesn't mean that they are on the inside. The not as good looking women have to make up for their lack of beauty and have a personality and know how to make a man feel like a man.
OK, this is not true of every attractive woman etc. but it seems to be true in many cases. Even movie stars and models often marry what you would call "a step down", but you know what? There is a thing called the "love factor" that enters into the equation.

Well maybe the "beautiful women" that these men have are as they sound- superficial. They may be the hottest things around, but they dont give the man a sense of security cause maybe he isn't up to par with their looks. It's most likely this "beautiful" woman would cheat on her current man with a man more handsome that has money and a car. But the less attractive women or the "Downright Ugly" (which I wish you chose a better way of wording) probably offers a sense of security, and that the man knows she'll be ther waiting for him in the end if things dont work out with miss beautiful.

All these answers are pretty good.. and you are very right, looks aren't everything. Maybe the beautiful ones are too much for him, he knows he doesn't deserve the beautiful one.. or just like some of the others have said they are trying to get in as many panties as possible.. And everyone sees beauty differently.. just depends on the person. and guys aren't the only ones who cheat, women do too.. Some people like the "rush" or the sneaking around feeling.. til they get caught.

There's no correct answer, but I have been fortunate to date some really incredibly gorgeous women, and while I have never cheated on any of them, I was tempted. Other women will hit on a beautiful girl's boyfriend. It just happens. Many reasons why. Also, believe it or not, the incredible reaction that occurs when you see someone whose looks really take your breath away, fades over time. You get used to it. When people get the same thing over and over, some will look elsewhere and often end up with someone less attractive. I hope this helps.

To a person like that, I would say it has nothing to do with looks at all
Its all about "the chase" or "hard to get". Once you already have a beautiful woman then theres no more excitement, sort of like the opposite of marriage. To some people settling down means there's no more mystery.
I suppose that's why men cheat in general, because it gets them excited and afraid to get caught. It doesn't matter who it is or what they look like.

Sad to say but it's human instinct. Man and women cheat. We still have the thought of others in ours minds even if you love some one else,they can't help it at times. There are few people they don't cheat and the ones that do don't admit it. There are some people that are honest but chances most are not.

Why do men cheat? Because they can! Chris Rock said it best : "Men are only as faithful as their options." If they are given the chance, most men take it. It takes a real man, who is truly in love, to be faithful. It's very simple. Beautiful girl, or not.

listen, stay away from creepy buggers, don't always go for a guy who is the best lookin, look at the boy next door even, the nice single guy in the office beside u, the one u get coffee from, the one u eat lunch with, and trust ur instincts, just cuz he's smooth and cute, doesn't mean he's ur prince charmin, if he screws up again, leave him and don't be naive, don't trust him, he needs to learn!!!! urn ur trust!

Firstly, the take their 'beautiful woman' for granted, and figure if they 'got' her, they could probably seduce less attractive women easily, and get more variety,and to prove how 'studly' they are. I know it sounds cold hearted, but men tend to always be on the lookout for an easy 'score'.
