my friend forgot her windows password and cant sign on to her computer what can she do to either sign on or reset the password to get on the comp.?

I'm afraid that you may have to reinstall windows. Thats the whole point behind passwording windows!!
Unless you've got an administrator password that you could use?

Opening a new Administrator account will fix this! This must be done in "safe mode".
Start computer in "Safe Mode", go to user accounts in Control panel and open a new Administrator account with all privileges
The procedure for entering "Safe Mode" varies depending on your operating system. If you don't know it for your computer get a book or contact any tech support.
Also, a password is not mandatory. If security is not an issue leave it blank!

That is a huge problem.. there is absolutely no way to get in without your password. You'll probably need to reinstall the whole thing
