Yes, but you go thru part of Canada on the way.
THE ROUTE: The Alaska Highway begins in Dawson Creek, in northeastern British Columbia, then winds northwesterly through Canada’s Yukon Territory and into the heartland of Alaska.

Delta Junction, Alaska, 98 miles south of Fairbanks, is the official northern end of the highway, but Fairbanks is the destination for most Alaska Highway motorists. The Richardson highway, in place for decades before the Alaska Highway was opened, is the route north to Fairbanks from Delta Junction.

Driving distance from Dawson Creek to Fairbanks is 1,488 miles. Distance between Seattle and Fairbanks is 2,313 miles.

My friend made the drive from Delaware to Alaska when he was moving up there. It took him about eight days to get there. The weather during the wintertime can be quite extreme enroute to Alaska so I wouldn't recommend doing this without a four-wheel drive and an emergency survival kit in your trunk or cargo area.

Alaska is in the US - its a state!! And if you're driving from the lower 48, you can take the TransAlaskan highway all the way through Canada. May not be called that anymore, but it runs all the way - whatever name it may go by now.

Sure you can, but why the heck would you want to? I did it with my family when I was only 6 from Minnesota up to Alaska and we were gone forever. It is a very mountainous rough drive. Attacked by bears, uh.....bears aren't like that.

Are you wanting to do this or just inquiring for arguments sake? If you want to drive it then that's crazy talk! Trust me if you want to go there, fly!

Yes you can, in fact, I just did a map from my house in Southern California from Anchorage. Up I-15 to a few Canadian freeways, and that was pretty much it. It's just not a practical drive since it's 3666 miles, and would take 70 hours of driving.
