I have found that McAfee VirusScan and Personal Firewall is the best. I have tried others, including Norton Antivirus and The Verizon Internet Security Suite and none seem to work as well. When we has AOL we got so many viruses thru the Norton, and McAfee was the only thing that got rid of them. We switched to Verizon online and still use the McAfee and the PC runs great!

It's an "Anti-Virus" what I think you're looking for. Over the years I've worked with many, and two I like over the others.
McAfee is one, very powerfull and easy to use; but makes your pc slow. http://us.mcafee.com
Norton AntiVirus is the most complete and secure antyvirus software
http://www.symantec.com
I would choose Norton if I were you. It's got lots of features, it keeps your computer protected without making it slow and it's easy to configure.
Good luck

Norton Anti-virus is the best, but Panda is also really good, and Panda can be downloaded free for 30 days, and starts scanning and removing harmful files as soon as it is installed.
