Here is my idea. Tell him that you really want to go to a military ball. We have a lot of those in the winter season. If he takes you, he is probably not married. If he makes up some excuse, you may want to dig deeper.
Don't call his Commander, unless you find out he is married. Those calls made me mad when I got them, and even if the guy isn't married, he may get in trouble for not handling his own business.
If you later find out that he is married, call his commander. We need to weed the garden to keep guys like this from training our troops.
That said, you will probably find out that this guy is not married, and that you had misplaced your trust. While we do have some bad apples in the service, most of them are outstanding men and make selfless husbands that could be prize catches for any gals.

ok a few things to check for..
1) does he only call you or be with you during certain times of the day?
2) have you met any of his family?
3) can you call his home phone?
4) when you guys are around other people does he tell them your his gf?
5) check his profile online there might just be a link to his wifes page
6) has he went on vacation with you? or been with you for a few days in a row.
read these questions and ask yourself if he has done any of them a guy who is single would tell people and not be afraid to be out in public with you and let you call him when ever. and not be scared to give you his home phone. just my thoughts but if he wont do those things there is a reason. he has a wife. and run away from him if he does.

There are many ways to go about this. You have to be part private detective, though.
To start with the best thing is to just ask him. If it makes him mad, then he wasn't worth it to begin with.
Secondly, call his commander. Guaranteed to make him mad, and if he's been lying, possibly get his butt in trouble, at the least something the commander will not forget.
You know where he is from? Check records from the County he got married in. Usually Probate Court or the county recorder's office (depending where he is from) will have those records.
If you know where he lives, check it out. Look in the phone book, get the adress and scope it out.

If you don't trust him stop wasting your time and his. And the last thing you want to do is call his CO. First his CO is not required to provide you with any information since you are not an immediate family member.
Second, if you call his CO and the DI is single and discovers you are checking up on him...what do you think he'll do?
And as for the people who say DIs lie about being single...I wonder how many of them have lied about being single.

try to check on him online. Or ask him where he lives & see if you can investigate about who lives at that house.
As for the stupid people who answered your question with "ask him"!!!! I would only say DUH!!! I'm sure you have already "asked him" that's not the issue! It's how true his answer is the problem!

Why would you want to date a guy you simply don't trust?

Ask him, its pretty simple. If you mistrust him that much then I certainly wouldn't be wasting my precious time with him.
