My mom has had MS for as long as i can remember and it is only getting worse to the point to where she is bedridden, her sight is getting worse, and her muscles are weak. All i want is for her to be happy and walking again. God has blessed her with a delightful spirit, but she is slowly wilting more and more. If money was not an option, what are the possibilities? I want to give her the best Christmas present she has ever had.

MS is not a very nice disease... to find more information I would check out webmd dot com... as far as healing from ms... it would take something short of a miracle... however, people have been known to go into remission.

To be honest with you... making the time that your mom has on this earth as comfortable as possible is a good idea... people tend to heal better when they are not stressed and in pain. My mom knows of some herbal medicines that help heal the nervous system (as she was once bedridden and "terminally" ill). I would also talk to your mom's doctor and see if there is anything that you can do to help the situation any.

I'm sure that your mom would cry to know that her daughter would do anything to give her a happy Christmas and want her to get better.

Spend as much time with her as possible, do the little things that you know make her happy, talk to her doctor and check out webmd to get any other info.

If you would like to talk about anything please feel more than welcome to do so. Having a parent who is ill is extremely hard and I'm here to talk if you like. Breathofvitality at yahoo is my email.

Blessed Be.

I'm sorry, there is no cure for MS. I have MS too, and I can say that one way that you can make your mom very happy is to be understanding and sympathetic. It's quite frustrating when we can't do the things that we want to do and think that we should do. The best Christmas present that you can give her is to do something that makes her life easier. Maybe housecleaning for a month (by you or a professional), or something along that line. I wish you both well.

Honey, as much as you, your mother, myself, my family and millions of others would like to, there is no cure for MS.

I'm sorry, there is no cure, but there are new treatments, I take Betaseron shots every other day, and chemo pill 3x's a day. There is also a new treatment called Tysabri which is a 1x a month infusion, in the vein, and finally there is a much stronger form of Chemo for people in your mom's situation which is called Novantrone. But, none of these treatments come without their fare share of problems, and none of them are miracles they are treatments. Research, research, research, not only the medications but the disease; I feel you owe her that, because from your question I can tell you don't know enough about this disease that is affecting your mom. Also contact the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, they may be able to help her, and most importantly you.

Finally, you mom is not only blessed by her spirit, but that of her daughters. Take care.

Hi sweetheart,

There is no one person on this earth who can cure MS. I commend you for taking care of your mom. Please believe that she doesn't want to be in that bed, either, and definitely not a burden to anyone. However, it does sound as though she has accepted the current situation. You said she has a delightful spirit. God has also given her the strength and grace to encourage her day by day. He has provided her with the best helper ever, and I believe one who would take her pain were it possible. That is awesome. God will bless you also, my dear.

Just as God has given your Mother a delightful spirit, He is the only One who can heal her. It may not happen while she is on this earth, but you can believe and rest assured she will feel no pain whatsoever when she reaches heaven!

I feel a little of what your mom feels. I have degenerative disk disease. I miss the days when I could get around and do for myself. I sympathize with your Mom and am encouraged by her spirit.

God bless you both.

Why shun known medical cures that God gave us the ability to learn and know about..That has got to be the most "natural" of all..there are no actual cures for these afflictions you have mentioned, but treatments that diminish problems and side effects and allow life as usual when followed...If Kevin is just beating around the bush in his book..there must not be much to tell ....What we hear about as far as natural remedies and cures, etc..mostly deal with medicine in other cultures and times....what was their life expectancy compared to ours? Just a few thoughts...I have no experience or documentation, just off the cuff observations, so will accept any criticism/more informed comments!

Visit this website and type in 'ms' and/or 'multiple sclerosis' in the search window: http://www.drmcdougall.com . Then read all you can on the subject. You simply can't know too much about any so called 'incurable' disease. I've survived a near death experience with alcohol and depression and am now battling fibromyalgia and diabetes successfully thanks to good health and positive spirit.

You people who are giving up are quitters. Doctors do not know everything... I'm living proof... I should be dead. This poor young lady needs hope and encouragement. There are people out there who have beaten MS. Here's one of them:

My husband also has MS. Unfortunately there is no cure. There is a lot or research going on for new medications to slow the progress. Hopefully one will become available soon. My husband takes a weekly shot, (Avonex) it helps slow the progression of the disease. My heart goes out to you both, god bless.

Sad to say, MS is a progressive neurological disease that attacks the myelin sheaths covering nerves (perhaps an auto immune disease). There are drugs that can halt an exacerbation of the disease (like steroids) and there are new drugs that are being examined that can limit the progression of the disease—at least for a while. Unfortunately, I know of no treatment that can cure this or several related diseases. Your love for her has to be of extreme help to her, and you have my total sympathy having lost a mother to a long progressive Alzheimer's disease.

There is no cure. There are meds out there that will help her lead a better life a little longer. My mother had MS for 25 years and passed away in 2000. She was taking daily injections and it helped somewhat. But no, unfortunately there is no cure for this horrible disease.
