Hi,
I use cheapest prices search engine because they pretty much compare all of the stores and they have good reviews.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Pioneer speakers lately and they don't cost a lot of money.

Altec Lansing really good value for money- great bass. good vocals.
Though it's mainly for computers some can be use for TVs.
I would bring some DVDs/ CDs with low basses and vocals (LOTR,chicago) to test the speakers out.
