I've seen a couple of successful case studies, where autistic children used a computer. One of them typed that he could only use one sense at a time. If he looked at someone, he couldn't hear, for example. To listen, he had to close his eyes. If he tried to walk, he focused so hard on feeling the air moving, that he crashed into furniture. So we are starting to know what is happening to them anyway. Hopefully we'll reach more people one day. Even better, find the cause so we can prevent it.

I would really check out a 'TIME' Asian Edition article entitled "Inside Autism." The article appeared in the asian Time magazine in the late spring of this year. There were several articles with specialists talking about breakthroughs in treatment and therapy.

Sure they can. My sister-in-law is a teacher with a masers degree and deals directly with these children and has a very positive response!
