i think its a waste of money

I just finished the rest of my 6 ft wood fence and have thought about putting in one of those. But then I thought I would have to get several, as all my dogs wanting to use the one window seems like something that could possibly end up in a fight, especially if a strange dog is outside the fence.

As Torbay said though, for some breeds you could just cut a hole, and the window probably would get smeared up.

Are you sure you dog needs to see what is going on outside of your fence? The dog may start barking at everything that moves since the dog can no longer sniff at it to investigate. I think you will probably regret putting this hole in your fence. Once it is done, it cannot be undone without replacing the boards of a whole section of fence.

Do you love your pooch...? Of course you should buy the dog a window, excellent idea, all dogs would love one, I know my best buddy (Boots) would, if only I had an outside fence , spying on the neighbours might be contavening some sort of law on being a watch dog!. Won't keep you as I know you have a window to fit, have fun!

NO. it will only give your dog another reason to bark too much and your neighbors will start hating you! Not to mention sometimes you should be thankfull you can't see what is going on, on the other side of the fence. It takes away privacy.

No, your dog will stay in that spot all day long and that is not healthy. Dogs tend to obsess over things like that.

They are really cool and I want one for my dog, she would love it as she is obsessed with looking out of windows and it would give the neighbours something else to talk about too, going to show my hubby this tonight and see what he thinks, love it.

Pretty cool!! I am getting several!!!!!!!
I wonder though, if just a hole cut JUST big enough for the head would not be better. Wouldn't slobber and drool and saliva build up on the inside of the window???? Then it could not see, or you would have to clean it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!! My dogs are bigger, so they could not get out a head sized hole, but I guess small dogs could.

You really don't need to waste your money. Privacy fences are for privacy. My three dogs would go nuts if they could see through the fence: they're nosy enough when they go out on walks.

That's actually a pretty great idea. I might get one myself, because my dog's girlfriend (that's what I call her anyway) lives on the other side of the privacy fence and he goes nuts not being able to see her !

Go for it !

No. If you have a privacy fence, leave it like that. Putting in one of those windows could cause problems...by letting your dog get excited about passerbys, dogs and cats.

Don't waste your money.
