my ex-boyfriend found the dog and so the license blongs to him, but he said i could have the dog and i get the dog next week i want to change the license so it says i am the owner what do i do?

Take the dog to animal care & control, & if the dog hasn't had his shots, they will give them, and a liscense, with tags ect. That way, if the dog gets lost and animal control pickes him up, there is a record that he is yours and that he already has his shots. If he has had his shots, ask your boyfriend for the record of them. Hope this helped you, good luck.

r u talking about the rabies license. when u get his shots next year u just put ur name on it. if u r talking about some kind of city or county license, just go to where u got it with some type of bill of sale and change it like u would the title of a car. not sure what u mean but hope this helps

Get a bill of sale from the ex b/f Then take the dog where he got it's tags & have new ones made.

There is a place on the paper license to change ownership, or go to the Town clerk.

On the back of the license,,it will have a form of changing ownership.

go to the dogs veterinary clinic and tell them your situation and I'm sure they will change the information in their records and they will make your dog a new tag.
