I was brought up with the older fords like capris, escorts, fiestas, granadas, cortinas etc, but also like newer cars like the focus and mondeo. What do you prefer?

yep for me i definately prefer the oldies lol, i own a series 2 (mk4) escort RS turbo approx 260bhp :D my dream car is a red escort RS cosworth, would also own a mk1&2 escort, xr2 fiesta and i am lookin at buying a fiesta turbo in the next 6 months. its a shame the oldies have really been pushed to one side, they were the beginning of the performance cars!! youve got the cosworths that used to dominate the rally days like the sierra RS cosworth and the seirra RS500 cosworth, RS200, escort RS2000, Escort cosworth and of course the RS focus..... when push comes to shove weither it be faster or slower, prettier or uglyer i would still rather have an "oldskool" ford :D

altogether there was quite a few RS models, some listed below (off the top of my head)

RS200
RS500 (sierra 3door)
RS2000 (Escort mk 1-6)
RS Cosworth (sierra 3door, sierra sapphire. Escort)
RS Turbo (fiesta, escort mk 3&4)
RS1600i Escort
RS1900i Escort
RS1800i Fiesta
RS Cosworth (Granada non-turbo (2.9L 24V V6))

thats all i can think of right now but yeah lol, my point still is they were the beginning of a new era!! if it wasnt for some of them cars the world of motorsport would be quite different to the way we know it :D

Had many fords over the years ranging from a ford anglia through to a brand new focus zetec and believe me the newer they are the better they get. When I think back to the 375 column change consul I used to have which I thought was the dos b*****s of cars at the time I realise just how far advanced we are today in the motor world. No doubt in a few years time there will be many added extras that are not on the vehicles today and no dobt then I will still be thinking of how good the new ones are.

New fords suck - my first car was a 1600E - leather seats, walnut dash etc. I had a 1600GT Capri - metallic purple with a vinyl roof and leaky sunroof, dodgy sound system - great fun.Shame of shame I then had a 2000E automatic - hideous thing but very popular amongst friends when I was the designated driver - loads of room and (again) a monster sound system - my girlfriend at the time had an ancient Consul. They were great, reliable, cheap to get bits for and soooo much part of my memories of the 70's and 80's. I cannot imagine too many 2006 ford owners looking back with fondness on Focuses etc.

I really like the changes to the body of the new mustangs. I have a explorer sport and currently in midst of trying to decide between another vehicle... a mustang (which would be FUN), a F150 SC (which would be practical sometimes for hauling and with SC could have 5 passengers at least), or last but not least a full size explorer (which would be somewhat fun but also practical as I could have up to 7 passengers plus would be helpful for travel.) Took a test drive in a California Special Mustang and a Convertible V8 Mustang on Friday man are they fun!

Mark I Granada Ghia was pretty awesome looks-wise, as was the Mark III Cortina! But for sheer presence it was the Mark V escort Cossie! If I was to win a prize though, and walk away with the keys right now, it would be the two litre Mark IV Cortina estate in white! No idea why, just fecking love it!!!!

My choices are the Mustang, F-150, F-150 Lightning, SVT Focus, Galaxie, the GT-40, the Ford GT, the Austrailian Ford Falcon, the Austrailian Ford GT, & the new Shelby GT500. These are some of the best Ford vehicles I've seen.

Definitely newer fords. The new focus ST looks fantastic. Yet i do like the old charm of the original GT40.

I had a sierra for 10 years and cried like a baby when it went for scrap. I had a mondeo for 8 years and although it was good, it just wasnt the same as my beloved sierra
