I want to learn more about my spirit guides and find out who they are.?

I have had feelings that I am being guided by a spirit of some form (not from a bottle...lol). I am very open minded about it and want to learn more. Looking for advice about making contact if possible.

i would advise going to a spiritualist church
you may get a reading and they may be able to provide you with some information regarding guides
but they also run development groups where you can learn for yourself the best ways to get in touch with your guides

If you feel that you are guided, then you will be. Trust your own intuition over, and above anything else that others tell you.

The best way that I know to do this is to go on what is called a vision quest this lasts four days of fasting praying and meditating in the wilderness.

You will need ask some friends look out for you. You need to provide them with food and give them gifts.

If you can get to a sweat lodge it is preferable to do so. Keep away from those that charge for these things, use them for picking up lovers or other such nonsense, that's not what these things are about.

when you are out on your quest pay attention to everything. try to hear the light of the sun, the rocks and plants that surround you. Try to hear colors and scents, try using your senses for things you have been told they couldn't sense; see the wind feel the heartbeat of the Mother Earth.

Don't bring any writing materials or recording devices. People who tell you to bring these things are wrong, we've done these things for thousands of years us natives know what we are doing.

don't go up their with romanticized notions; be real, be who you are; understand that you have your own ancestors and it is likely one of them who watches over you.

Don't ever tell anyone who your spirits are, it is none of their business.

Don't talk freely about such things, some people are greedy and ill willed and may be jealous of these things and try to do something harmful.

You have been drawn from our mother earth by your ancestor, not mine or anyone elses. If a spirit comes to you claiming to be some romanticized notion you have about these things thank them for their time and send them on their way, especially if everything they are telling you is what you want to here. Not all spirits are good, they are as diverse as any people.

Getting to know a person is the same no matter who they are. Keep those romanticized notions out of your head and remember that your spirit guide is an individual like yourself or anyone else.

What kind of a "spiritual guide" are you talking about?

Christians would state that it is the Holy Spirit directed by God.

Muslims would claim it is due to Allah "making two steps towards you".

Bhuddists would say that the inspiration is coming from you, and no one else.

Go learn about religions on Wikipedia. I would suggest looking at Baha'i Faith, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Bhuddism. Perhaps a little bit of Neo-Paganism if you cannot find what you're looking for from those major religions.

Ok...spirit guides are animals moron, not Indians or Egyptians, and no one asked about satan. If you have nothing to offer STFU about your god. Anyway, there is way too much to type on the subject but there is a book called "By Oak, Ash, & Thorn" that explains it all in detail.
