My 11 year old stepdaughter has been taking benedryl EVERY night for over a month. Mom is giving her 3 a night when the reccommended dose is 1. She says it is to help her sleep, but when she is with us we do not have any problems with her sleeping. She wont listen to our concerns either. What should we do?

I have already called cps and her doctor. Cps wont do anything.... we dont work with the other doctor due to it being outa town. When talking to her about it it goes in one ear and out the other. Mom is major bipolar and ALL the kids are on meds (5) except for this one.... she wants her to go on bipolar meds... their house is screwed we NEVER have problems when she is with us. There is NO Parenting there.... Cps has been called at least 4 times and nothing is happening.

call child & family protective services.
or...go and buy 10 bottles of benadryl, open them up, fill them with corn syrup and red dye - and say - hi i just wanted to save you the expense - and i happened to be at cosco so i got all of these benadryl... i know they look opened but they all came in a big plastic wrap.
really, if she's drugging your daughter she could be doing worse so call dcfs!

God bless you for taking such good care of this detrimental baby! you're an angel from heaven. i do no longer blame you at keen approximately telling that lady off... i'm optimistic there's a miles better thank you to have dealt with it, yet thank you for containing this detrimental youngster. save up the solid artwork! enable your stepdaughter comprehend that SHE is the only that would desire to be in value of conversing together with her mom or no longer. she will deliver her mom enjoying cards, letters, telephone calls - yet no longer any other way around. enable her to have administration over this occasion... no longer her mom.

It sounds like you and you husband need to go for custidy of her. Or you need to get DFC (welfare) involved. Someone needs to step up to the plate before something really bad happens to this girl. There is always the possability of over dose. She could die or be a vegtable the rest of her life. Please seek help for her now. Good Luck, Becky Sorry for being so hard but it is the truth.

MIND YOUR BUSINESS let your husband take care of it,if you guys think that she's such a bad mother then take her to court and seek full custody if you feel that CPS isn't helping then that's your other choice and if you don't want to do that then MIND YOUR BUSINESS.

call social services they r responsible for this kind of situation, no one else can help. cops will say its not crimnal and doctor will tell her to come off the meds, the decision will still be the moms.,
keep her by u as long as u can and call the social services, they can help. she is making the child addicted to theses drugs which can poison her too.
best of luck

Take it up with a doctor and/or CPS. They'll let you know the right course of action.

Call her Dr ASAP! Maybe mom will listen to him. Why hasn't dad had a talk with the ex. It would be tragic if something bad happened to her.
