Or ask " Who do you like?
Or ask "What do you think about ..........?

Also would it be better to ask about several people so it won't be as obvious or ask just the certain one to make sure he answers honestly and is taking her seriously?

because it is more anonymous and you don't have to mention any names. you can find out, and not be obvious as well.
