the dates on the bottles are in code, I know that Mike's has a web site with a link to ask questions that they actually will answer! so you can most likely ask them how there dates are coded.
these types of drinks should be fine if consumed within 12-18 months. beer has dates on the cans or bottles and usually still taste fine a few months after they expire, the dates are recommended for optimal taste but doesn't mean the product spoils shortly after

Drinks like Zima and Mike's will not get better with age. That is just plain stupid.

An un-opened canned or bottled drink will last a couple of years -maximum. Constant cool (not necessarily refridgerated) storage temps are important.

For carbonated drinks, like commercially distributed beer, a few months. Import beers or beers that are undergoing bottle conditioning (some yeast still in the bottle) will be good for a couple of years. For hard liqour practically indefinite. Most actually get better as they get older.

I've drunk beer, wine, mead and spirits decades old, and the only time it was ever undrinkable was some canned beer we opened in McMurdo, Antarctica in 1973 which had been canned in 1957. The cans hadn't rusted through but the insides of the cans had started flaking off and forming sediment.
