I just read that Iowa (were I live) has reculled lots of beef, and I ate a hamburger a couple of day's ago and it tasted funny.

I hadn't heard about this scare with Iowa beef until right now! However, you shouldn't be able to taste e coli, unless the meat itself was just turning. If you don't have symptoms yet after 48 hours (vomiting, diarrhea, cramping) then you're clear.

I still wish I could eat fresh spinach here in CA. But I'm still waiting.

No, e-coli doesn't make food taste funny - it comes from contamination by waste (in other words, people not washing their hands after using the bathroom). I attended a wonderful dinner at a Fodor's rated 5 star Chinese restaurant in San Francisco and was sick within 4 days - took me more than 3 months to conquer e-coli and it wasn't fun.

E.coli along with all bacteria have no taste at all. but if its been a couple of days you should be alright, its usually 14 to 36 hours that you will start to notice symptoms

No. If it had E coli you would be dead by now so don't sweat it.

Most of that Iowa beef probably went out of state so you are not at special risk.

i think e-coli is more towards the leafy vegetables versus the meats are more towards the salmonella
