Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. It is considered a deep, ineffable feeling shared in passionate or intimate interpersonal relationships. However, in different contexts, the word love has a variety of related but distinct meanings: in addition to romantic love, which is characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire, other forms include Platonic love, religious love, familial love, and the more casual application of the term to anyone or anything that one considers strongly pleasurable, enjoyable, or desirable, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in a single word is commonly contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for love, reflecting the word's versatility and complexity.
Although clearly and consistently defining love is a difficult task, and often a subject of much debate, different aspects of the word can be clarified by determining what isn't "love". As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate (or neutral apathy); as a less sexual and more "pure" form of romantic attachment, love is commonly contrasted with lust; and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is commonly contrasted with friendship, though other definitions of the word love may be applied to close friendships in certain contexts.

There is Love, and then there is the "In Love" Feeling.
The In Love feeling is pretty much what you describe, it happens because the brain will release chemicals that get you high, part of the whole lust thing, this can last anywhere from 2 months to two years. Love is after that feeling disappears and you still could not function without the person they have become so intertwined into your life that if they left you would collapse, and while that can be felt with the in love it doesnt last as long and happens while you are on a chemical high.
While you may be happy you might not be in love, though I am not saying you are not because it is possible to be in both.

I got a little more defining answer.
Love that lovers have is a combination of Like and Lust
Like is something u have with friends. It has to do with the way u click with ur man or girl. How you chill with a person.
Lust....is how much you want to be intimate with the person, that raw desire that he feel whenever u look at someone.
Combine the 2 and you got love. Everyone needs it, just some can tolerate different ratios.

Those seem to be more like examples of love but you havnt defined it yet.
Im pretty sure if i went into my definition of love, you would find it long and boring. In short, love cannot be singled out and defined. It is in relation to your individual characteristics, how you see the world and what you want to do with your life. Love would be the common bond to obtain the same goals in life and possibly, the union of two people is the only way to achieve that goal. You probably have no clue what im saying so ill shut it.

When i kiss my girlfriend i feel all tingly and warm. Whenever I'm not with her i feel empty inside, like a piece of me is missing. When i look into her eyes i know that there is no other woman I'd rather be with. Whenever i am about to see her i get all nervous, just like the first time we hung out. Love is amazing!!!

I would describe it as never wanting to be away from them, and when you are you get so sad, always being there for them when they need you, thinking about them constantly,if something ever happened to them you would just die, just hearing from them brightens up your day,you would give up so much to be with them....those are just somethings you would feel and it sounds like you are in love,it feels great doesn't it?I'm in love and I have never been happier!

sounds to me like you are definitely in love.
but don't get too caught up, because you never know what his intentions are. guys can be very cruel.
love is when you can't picture not having that person in your life, and they just make your world better and make you better as a person. your descriptions fit right in with how love makes you feel. love is a great thing, but very hard to define. it's complex and beautiful. cherish it hun!
good luck with everything!

awww...that made me smile :p i know exactly how that feels...and in my opinion, love is constantly wanting and needing this person with you or you feel lonely and emty without them, knowing everything about the person, having complete and total trust in them, always having a shoulder to cry on, someone you can talk to till the early hours of the morning, someone you can trust with your deepest secrets, someone who understands you....and so much more...not to mention the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you think about your sweetie and when you hug them! i'm so happy for you and i dont even know you :p im in love with my boyfriend of one year and ive never been happier. i hope this helps!

It's hard to describe. I've been in love for a long time now. The most simple way I can describe it is, you'll know. You'll absolutly know you're in love. If you have to think about it, I don't think you're there yet. You just know.
