For instance: I filed the I-129F Petetion, to get my English fiance here into the states. I did everything to the T.. now i get a letter back from Immigration, our case is on hold until i fill out a paper called an 'IMBRA' Supplement to the I-129F. FIRST OFF... IMBRA, has NOTHING to do with us. I'm a American FEMALE..trying to get my male fiance here. The IMBRA is for American MEN trying to get foreign females here. This does not make sense. I'm pissed off.. Immigration are full of complete idiots!!

International Marriage Broker Regulation Act of 2005 (IMBRA) H.R. 3402, aimed at protecting foreign nationals who enter into marriages with U.S. citizens through international marriage brokers and certain Internet-based businesses that facilitate these kind of arrangements.

The purpose of such a law is to protect spouses in any abusive relationship, not only women that are traditionally more often abused or victimized. The law is gender neutral and protects both women and men who are victims of domestic abuse.

The key provision of the new law is that the prospective foreign spouse will be provided with information pertaining to any criminal background of the prospective U.S. spouse, you for that matter.

A friend of mine, got a lawyer to get his wife here on a Fiance Visa for about $200. Don't try to do anything else on your own. Get a lawyer to help. Law only listens to law, I find.

I suggest getting an immigration lawyer. They write those forms like they do the tax forms and they are really hard to understand!
