Can i take smokeless tobacco out of the country even for personal use?

For instance, could i take 2 or 3 cans of dip for a trip where there will be none?

Depends on which country. Canada currently allows either 2 packs of smokes, or two tins of chew. Your not going to get in trouble for taking it either way. Worst thing that will happen is it might get thrown away by customs.
