A study (on the news, unfortunately I forget where) was actually conducted on this very subject in the UK and found that where you are born plays a big role in your preference.
There's a north-south divide stretching across the country, with those in the north preferring brown sauce, and those in the south preferring red. The country is apparently split at around Nottinghamshire... where people seem to love both and preferences have no pattern.
Personally, I (born and raised in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire), like red. My father loves brown, my brother red and my mother cares for neither! But I prefer BBQ over everything!

Hmm, I'm Greek and we practically cook all our foods in some kind of tomato sauce. I love it. Especially dipping in fresh bread! Yummy

Tomato sauce has got to be the winner as it goes with almost everything, unless its beans on toast then it has to be brown.
Worcestershire sauce is great with cheese and onion on toast, wish i had some cheese..........
