If it's unusably dirty, get an old empty bottle or jar, and pour it in that, rather than down the sink or waste disposal. Once the container's full, seal the lid, and throw it away in your bin, or if possible, send it to be recycled.

I save an old soup or veggie cans, pour my old grease into one of those... never use glass to pour hot grease into. I put the Can in the frigde till its full, then throw it away. Sometimes I save bacon drippings for a day or two in a seperate container if I know I am going to be making grn beans or fried cabbage. Not good for the arteries or the waist line.. but mmmmmm good!
