Okay, there's a girl in my literature class who is pretty cute. We're acquaintances and sort of know one another. I was thinking about asking her out thinking I might have a chance with her, but on the way out of class she said to her friend "I have a date with a football player tonight. I'm so excited!" is this girl out of my league is she's going on a date with a football player?

No she isn't out of your league! Be confident and believe in yourself. She was just excited about going out. I myself prefer intelligence over athletic abilities. Let her know you are interested, if she isn't she'll tell you and you can move on. If she is you can date and see where it goes. If you don't you will never know what could have been.

Just because she has a date with a football player doesn't mean that she's out of your league. In fact, I don't know why people really think that there's leagues, and if a girl's in a higher one than you are, then you can't date her. That's stupid. I'll say something right now, it's a free country, go and date who you want, popular or not. It shouldn't matter at all.

Well, it's best to wait a bit and find out if she is now exclusively dating the football player or not. You don't want to step into forbidden territory. However, if the football player and she haven't become an item, it's best you make your move.
The worst that can happen is she could say no. But, it's better to have done with the chance then to never have done and live in regret for not taking chance w/ an opportunity.

well so what if she has a date with a football player that doesnt mean anything. if she is out of your league she wont be excited goin out with a football player and all. why not u get to know her first and see what she's like besides being cute.

No..if you like her..still ask her and she what she say..it doesn't matter if hes a football player....he might be UGLY and you might be CUTE...but anyway yes you should ask her if you really like her..take a chance
