Lying in bed with you, and you're nude in the bed with them, illegal if found? I am watching Law and Order SVU now, and this is the situation on there. A lesbian couple have a little daughter whom they adopted, and they have pictures of her in bed with them and they were naked. The little girl is about 8 I believe. Anyway, their excuse is that the little girl has a negative self body image, and that they're trying to show her that she is beautiful, and convince her to not be ashamed of her body. Would that fly in a court of law?

With any couple hetero sexual, or otherwise? I only added that they were a lesbian couple because that was where everyone started jumping to conclusions on the show.

We as a society, i've found, are so deeply sexually repressed its sad. We will show wanton and gratuitous violence, murder and bloodshedding but nudity is time for everyone to start freaking out. Nudity in itself is not wrong, we were born nude when we stand before the Almighty he will see way beyond our skin. There is nothing wrong with any form of nudity period no matter what age, its actually healthy to get your dust-mite, detergent laden clothing off your body on a regular basis and allow your skeleton and skin relax from being constricted, nudity is healthy and its the real us. When you're naked there are no lies or pretenses, you are who you are age is irrelevant. Its just that we are hung up on so much sexual baggage laced with self-righteousness and some sick desire to police everyone elses affairs its sickening that the knee jerk response to hearing about a child being nude starts people freaking out. 55-63% of the total global population lives on less than $3.00 american dollars a day, think they have clothing issues? In direct answer to your question - no way. They would be jailed without the help of a real good and expensive lawyer without question, they would be villified, harrassed, hated and branded without hesitation. Its the american way hon. If you and your husband and children went skinny dipping in a pool (your pool, your yard, high fence) and someone saw it think you wouldnt be arrested and your children taken away from you? You better believe it. Thats how f&%#ked up we are as a society.

The problem I have with that is... why are they in bed with her? I mean "if" an 8 yr old even notices their body and a problem thinking there was something wrong that would not be the way to help her over come it. The fact they were in bed with her and all 3 were naked in itself has a sexual overtone!And to take pictures? Seems kinda kinky to me! There is a difference in the photo of a nude infant on the bear skin rug as compared to an 8 year old nude in bed with two adults that are nude too.Whether they are lesbians or straight it just isn't the thing to do.

I'm sure there are certian exceptions to nude pics of your own children. As for being in bed naked with them. That itself is not illegal. However, if someone decides to make a case against you, that will be great evidence.

Doing so and/or possessing such photographs would be considered a criminal offense in the UK. If convicted, the two adults would be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and the Child removed to a Place of Safety, probably never to be returned to the adopted parents. It would be immaterial whether or not they were lesbians................

With parents letting kids run around naked in the house, playing in the yard, etc., I wonder if anyone could use the "parenting technique" defense rather than see a sexual connotation...
Taking the pictures disturbs me, but then, is it illegal to take pictures of a naked baby while bathing, etc.?

Don't expect common sense on this subject. Photographer Sally Mann (see link below) discovered that even an established and much-praised professional artist can run afoul of the twisted notions of what is and isn't "okay" in terms of photographs of kids. If a person can see "pornography" in Sally Mann's work, then rest-assured it's coming from inside their head!
