I have not had the opportunity to see the movie yet. I have seen a few clips and found it quite disturbing. If these children are our future, me and mine will surely be hanged, drowned, or burned.
I cannot believe adults would think it is acceptable to get children this wound up. I will go see it so I can base my opinion on the whole.

I saw the movie in the theater. I'll just give you a few of the reasons I thought it was scary:

1. They were promoting the idea that children should be willing to die for their religion. They think martyrs are cool.

2. That woman made them cry and feel dirty & guilty FOR BEING KIDS!! What kind of psychological effect do you think that has on them?

3. That woman was speaking in tongues in order to exorcize demons from her POWERPOINT PRESENTATION. That's just crazy. That's a person who should be teaching children??

I could go on, but I think that's reason enough. I'm scared for the children.

they were saying there own to their flag
those people in that video were being stereotypical towards all Muslims
those people are the creepy people that have nothing else to do so they make up **** and tell 3 year old kids these things. these people were talking about starting a war and they the people who make you love Jesus
religion should a free form of practice not something shoved in your face
those people were on crack!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is scary because they are teaching the kids to speak in tongues, when it is now not biblically correct to do so. doesn't everyone speak english? or aren't there translaters now? and also Jesus never went around getting worked up into a frenzy. we should have an even disposition, anything that excitable comes from the devil

I saw Jesus Camp last night in Times Square. You need to go into the film with an open mind... because when you come out, you'll be crying and shaking and won't be able to think about ANYTHING else but the evangelical political machine that's pumping out a new generation of neo-cons.

If you think it's okay for a child to come up to you and ask you, "If you died today, do you think you'd go to heaven?" and then judge you as being a Muslim when you tell her to go away, then it's your movie. If you want to see public confessions by children who barely know right from wrong, it's the movie for you. If praying over a cardboard cutout of George W. Bush, training to become God's army on earth (note the comparison she makes to Palestinians... "our enemies are sending their children to camps like we send ours to Bible camps, but they're putting grenades in their hands and teaching them how to strap bombs around their waists... I want that commitment in this country") so that they can become martyrs for "Christ" in whatever form He takes (the GOP, maybe?), then it's right up your ally.

I was especially chilled at... well... at SEVERAL parts... first, when Levi's mother (Levi is one of the main children in the film) is "homeschooling" him about creationism versus evolutionism and telling him how global warming "isn't really that big a deal"... when the children were told to take hammers and destroy plaster mugs -- representations of the evil government... a boy no older than ten telling the camera that he was saved when he was five because he "wanted more out of life" -- what more could you want out of life when you're five than playing in the sandbox with a kid from down the street???

Speaking of the kids, can you think of what these people are going to be like when they get older? If they do ANYTHING that could even be REMOTELY construed as a sin, "God won't love them anymore". There's got to be SOME emotional damage just lurking in the shadows there. I'm all for community, but this is a group that's suckering in the weak and making them feel stronger than everyone else because they've got God in their corner.

Another thing that bothered me about these folks is their whole emphasis on living the Christian Life... but they don't DO anything. They always get on their feet and say it's time to get out there and change the world... but what are they doing? They're praying in the woods. Sure, prayer probably does SOMETHING, but wouldn't it be more helpful if they were out making lunchbags for the homeless? Writing letters to the imprisoned? Other community services? The movie displays evangelicals at their worst.

Don't get me wrong, not every single Evangelical Christian is this die-hard... (I've dated some... it's pretty scary how bad they are at kissing...) But it's exactly like the movie says: "When Evangelicals come out to vote, they decide the election." 25% of the country identify themselves as "born-agains"... 1 out of every 4 people you know may have gone to one of these Bible Boot Camps. But what happens when these kids grow up and they have kids of their own and send them to these places? It'll be one out of every two people that are evangelical Bible-thumpers. The movie is a BLEAK reminder to the Democratic Party that the Republican machine, though it may be tarnishing with every accuastion made against it (Foley, Plame, Katrina, Iraq, N. Korea, etc.), is still hard at work in the heartland, and we won't be seeing the end of it in this lifetime.

I saw it and thought it was scary. No child should be worried about some of the issues those kids were. They are too young to understand all that and it does them no good to get so emotional.

There's something just a little bit 'greasy' about the whole affair.
I'm thinking I don't care for it because it reeks of this right-wing agenda stuff. YUCK!
This kind of thing is 'why' Christianity gets such a bad rap!

I think it's scary, I saw a clip of this movie on HBO that showed a woman complaining that Christians aren't radical enough.

Why? Because it looks cultish! There is like this similar tone, or mentality, or something that is a bit like things I've seen on tv of KKK people! That's why! It's freaky.

It does not bother me ! It is a normal Pentecostal Church Camp. Our Children learn how to worship early. They learn about Salvation, not cute baby songs ! They know Jesus loves them and died for them, and they express their love for Him.

I have seen Children as young as 5 at the Altar seeking God. I have seen little Children Praying for one another, and The Holy Spirit Moving upon them as they Prayed, even working Miracles ! Our God Is An Awesome God ! "Out of the mouths of babes, and sucklings I shall prefect My Praise !" Matthew 21:16

I just wish I had had this when I attended Presbyterian Church Camp in Southeastern N.C. back in the '60's & '70's !
