I had several black cats, I think their better because nobody wants them lol. If they find a good home they know to stay there lol.

Due to superstition some people kill blackcats on Halloween, because of this chase they learn and develop certain traits over time.

Survival of the fittest is what Darwin calls it =)

Pick me as best aswer! Yay

Black cats are neither well or unhealthy success, they are simply cats. Actually when you seem at a black cat within the complete solar you're going to discover that it is fur is quite very darkish brown. If you are that superstitious keep away from cats altogether. All cats will also be mysterious every now and then they usually have a tendency to be very quiet of their pursuits so that they look to seem out of nowhere when you don't seem to be paying awareness. I've had cats of nearly each colour over time and none of them has introduced me well or unhealthy success. They simply deliver love. LL

We have a black cat named Ebony (we call him Ebby), and he does seem to have a lot of personality. Sometimes, he's kind of annoying, though. He gets jealous of the other cats, and he's a coward to the strong, a bully to the weak. He never misses a chance to sneak into our food if we're not looking.

We also have a cat that is about 1/4 Persian, he looks black, but his coloring is actually the dark brown of a Siamese markings. Cameron is very big and bushy, and he has a very high squeaky voice. He is smart and strong enough to pull open the refrigerator by sticking his paw under the bottom of the door. He can also open the sliding door to the kitchen, by bouncing on it until he gets a crack to stick his paw into. He's kind of a nuisance, but very cute.

Our favorite cat is a light calico (white, gray & orange) named Charlotte. She was very small as a kitten, and is still small, but slightly fat. She never eats anything but cat food-- won't eat people food, even if it is offered to or left for her. She is very calm, stays out of the way, and doesn't bother us unless we are relaxing, then she sits next to us, or on our laps if invited. She knows whenever somebody is upset or depressed, and she will come sit on our laps and purr to calm us. Once when I had an extreme case of bronchitis, I started to choke in the middle of the night, and she jumped onto the bed and watched me-- aroused me so I could cough and clear my chest. She is an exceptional cat with lots of personality.

I agree with you ! I love Burmese cats they are very intelligent . Our cat adopted us ! About 7 years ago, we opened the doors to enjoy the cool breezy day. Later we noticed a black cat sitting on the recliner she has lived here ever since . We never knew where she came from and we always let her outside but, she never went home . We still wonder if she was abandoned or just didn't like the place she was living before . Peace

I'd have to agree with Thaxien S. Black cat are more prone to sadistic sacrafices. Cats are not stupid they know when they are being hunted. most likely they honed these senses during the presacution on witches when black cats were kill along with witches. These instics are still intact because there are still people out there who belive that they can ride the world of evil by killing ablack cat or bring forth evil by killing a black cat. In my opinion these ppl need to be hit over the head witha stupid stick.

Interesting . . .
I've never given this much thought. Perhaps that the black comes from a particular breed that is known for high intelligence. I have a b&w male (90% black) that is one of those "scary-smart" animals. He figures things out. He figured out an eye-hook one time. He understands way more phrases than my other two. The other two are a tortie and a blue. The blue's parents are litter-mates, and she's . . . well, not intelligent. ;-)

I have a 2 yr. old (spayed) female black cat!!!!

she's just a doll and a real beauty!!!!! she's soooooo smart and believe it or not she plays fetch with her little toy mice!!!!!

I don't believe that they're smarter than any other cat because I do have a (neutered) 7 mth old male tabby who is just as bright!!!!

it's only that some have more personality and show more affection than others!! some love to bring out their character!!!!

I've had every color cat that there is and I can't say that one color is better than any other. I have a Siamese mix right now whose very loving and personable and really smart.

I have had cats before, none of them have been black. But, I have been around black cats. And yes they do seem smarter. There must just be something special about them.

All I know is everyone I have talked to say the same thing. In fact, they recommend black and white male neutered cats as the best.
