Depends on where you are located. Your local community mental health center and/or social services would be a good place to start. If your depression is chronic and prevents you from working, you may qualify for medicaid....
For medication (once you have a doc to prescribe the right meds for you!), you can apply for prescription assistance via the Partnership for Prescription Assistance:
https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php
Also, try the Free Medicine Program:

Good luck!

Look under social services, crisis intervention, I would look through my local yellow pages and begin making phone calls. There is usually a counseling service center in most areas that base their fees on a sliding scale. so if you do not have insurance and have low income, you receive the services based on what you can pay. And depression can be serious and medication can be very helpful. So, make some phone calls, you may even try the crisis line and explain your situation and see if they can refer you to a agency that would be helpful. I hope this was useful and helpful information for you. Good luck and God bless

depends on where you live, social services usually can direct you.
In our town three places have closed this month for lack of funds.
It is getting to be a mess and a lot of people need help. Why don't we understand that mental health is the same as your backpain, headaches etc....My son has been in his house without leaving for several months. So I know of this. Try every door which comes your way, do not give up after one refusal , just keep fighting for some help and meds. Good luck to you.

Please be very careful about the medications. The widely prescribed antidepressants are being linked to the increase in suicides, homicides and erratic behavior. I was on Paxil for 9 years, have been off of it for about a year. Was told when I began, that it was not addictive, now I am hearing I may need to be on it for LIFE. My symptoms have returned and are worse than before. Had I known, I would have exhausted every other non-medication therapy I could have found.
Good luck.

Check to see if you're eligible for Medicaid. There are also programs where you work with doctor to contact a pharmaceutical company to apply for free meds. You will have to provide financial info and MD signs off. Companies generally ship to MD and you pick up at an appt. Also Google websites for medication/prescription assistance programs. Good luck!

Go to your local mental health facility. Ask them if they have the indigent program that United Way funded. You fill out an application and United way pays for your medication and visits with a psychiatrist.

Mental health clinics. They go by your income. My son was charged like 3 dollars a month when he had only a part time job once. I am glad you are gooing to get help. It only gets worse to ignore it, and meds can really set you free. God bless.

Go to your community health center. They have pretty good doctors and will write you prescriptions and if you need to see a specialist, they will send you. All free of charge. They can also sign you up for low-cost health care.

it ought to be your melancholy or the thyroid inflicting your problems. Being drained and irritable are indications of the two. on the grounds which you have been taken care of for the two interior the previous it could make experience to bypass see a DR to get evaluated. I comprehend the no coverage element yet its extra perfect to spend the $ now and get the concern resolved than to land up with a huge fat wellbeing facility bill that could have been prevented.
