My suggestion would be to go to a great stylist and get a haircut in which you have some layering. They may also be able to thin out some of the thick, bulky hair that tends to poof out. Never go to bed with wet or damp hair. That's a big no no for thicker hair. Also try using a shampoo/conditioner meant specifically for smooth/straight hair. I would suggest Regis Straight Pressed Conditioner and Shampoo as well as their Smooth Talk finishing balm. It absolutely works wonders though it is a bit pricey. You can get it at professional salons. Work the balm into your hair from roots to tips and dry with a larger round brush in long strokes. You'll see an immediate difference.

I have the same type of hair, so here are a few suggestions on how to style it:
1. Pigtails--
I know these may seem childish, but they are coming back in style. Not high pigtails, but low ones.
2.A bun--
Put your hair up in a ponytail, but then pull it through once more, but not all of the way. Keep it in the bun.
3. Braid--
A loose braid off to the side is very sexy. Even better - a french braid.
4. Half - N - Half --
Take the top layer of your hair and clip it up, while leaving the bottom half down. This works really well with thick hair.
I hope those suggestions helped!!

I have really thick hair that is naturally wavy and frizzy. I used to really hate it. I have now grown to like it because its really versitile, if you want to wear your hair curly just use a good curl definging product or something that take out the frizz, i personally like the Garnier Fructis Style soft curl cream, shapely frizz-free curls stuff it works pretty well, i am sure there are other products as well. My friends with really strait hair cant curl their hair cause it wont hold very long. Also if you want strait hair use a staightner. If you really are sick of the thickness and wavyness i would say straighten it because it helps take away some of the thickness -Good luck!

I have these scissors called Thinning Shears, the are like ridged scissors for cutting hair. my hair is very thick and me and my mom went to Walmart in the Hair Section and got a pair of Thinning shears. My mom ran em through my hair and my hair got pretty thin. Try that it should work good luck!!!

It's all just a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys just like it. And i prefer a person with short hair over a person with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look too girly.

I have really thick hair too. The thing I did to my hair to make it more manageable was get layers and I used allot of conditioner.

thick hair is a pain, your right. people think its so much better but its harder to manage. condition your hair in the shower, but leave a tiny bit of conditioner in your hair. not too much though. you still want it to look clean.
