I have a small child: I attend school and I work some pretty odd hours: is there hope for me?

Depends on how long emotionally it takes for them to get over the divorce.

It all depends on you and how long it takes to heal from the breakup. There are different types of divorce that a couple goes through to detach from the marriage. There is a lot of good reference material on the web that helped me immensely.
I married my high school sweet heart and it was brutal letting her go but I'm just getting to the point where I think I'm ready to start dating. It's taken me about a year to reconcile all of the different emotions involved with our situation - I have two small children and I've put them first before even thinking about finding someone else.

I have a small child too, and although I was never married to his father I have found that a year later I'm still not ready to date... I think when we find ourselves suddenly alone we crave companionship and jump into a relationship before we're ready.
I would wait at least a year, but everyone is different... good luck, I know it's difficult.

There is always hope for you and you start dating when your ready to do not go in too soon or feel rushed or pushed too you start to date when you want to ( from some one happily divorce since Nov 14th 2005 )

I don't think there is a set time, but rather you should start dating again whenever you feel comfortable with the idea and have met some good men you'd like to get to know better.
