Sometimes, right before falling asleep, I hear a loud ringing or static and I feel as if I am being pulled out of my body, I am not fully asleep, and I resist and try hard to stay in my body, but it is as if I am paralyzed. The resistance is so hard, but I finally regain control, then I feel wiped out. My heart is racing and I am scared to fall asleep after this happens. It doesnt happen all the time, every few months or so. What is going on? I know it is not a dream because I am not fully asleep when it happens, usually right before I doze off? I do not use any drugs, and when it occurs I ave not been drinking, nor am I overtired. Is something wrong with me. Serious answers only please, as this is not a joke.

This is called Sleep Paralysis.
It is normal. Your body falls into deeper and deeper states of sleep after you close your eyes.

There are many many disorders that involve sleep and reaching the different stages. Do a search on sleep paralysis on the net.
There are tons of sleep disorder websites, and you will be happy to find that there are millions of people out there that go through the same exact thing every night..

Don't worry. You are fine.

You need to get to Amazon and get this book right away: Dreams by Sylvia Browne. I am reading it right now. It is amazing. If I tried to explain to you what it happening you would not believe me so you need to read her book. She is world renown and has studied these experiences.
It is called out of body experience or astral travel. We all do it but some of us never remember the experiences. You must be intuitive and therefore you remember. Do not be in fear of it. And please do me a favor, pray to God each night before you go to bed and ask him to protect you with the white light of protection and the shield of armour. Tell him you need a break and would prefer to not travel so often. Make sure you pray every night, no joke.
You do not say your age here. If you are young your body has not homed your soul very long. Many times our soul need to revisit our loved ones on the other side (heaven). We miss them and long to be back there. Therefore we travel back frequently.

I have been studying spirituality with books and classes. I have learned so much I can go on and on. Sylvia Browne is the best on the subject. She is a psychic and much more and she explains in detail what you are doing and why. Please Please get this book asap and read it. Don't be afraid and no need for a doctor. I speak the truth.

Why don't you just relax and go with it. Leaving your body is a very spiritual experience. When you look down at your self and then wonder how you can see when your eyes are in your body you realize that you are not a body---you are spirit! It's a beautiful experience that will change the way you see yourself and others and the physical world you live in. It's a blessing!

These other people sound like they know what they are talking about with the whole Sleep Paralysis thing, but I really don't think that you should be taking your health into the hands of some people sitting in front of computers (no offense, answers people!!). See a doctor.

tintanitis and a mild panic attack will produce the same symptoms as the sleep paralysis that the others are talking about.
an out of body experience would not produce such symptoms in its self as everybody does this when they are asleep.
another possibility is that your breathing is being cut off by the position that you sleep in. or your blood flow to the cardioid arteries is being blocked.both Will produce the symptoms you describe as you are chocking yourself in a manner of speaking. loss of blood flow to the brain
A visit to a sleep clinic either inside of your hospital or outside of it should pinpoint the cause.
