Actually you can. Just not directly into Itunes. You can use a free program called PodPlayer, which will allow you to extract all the music from your ipod to your Hard Drive. Then you can just add them into Itunes again.

Contact apple, you will get a one-time free replacement of all your songs purchased. I read this from the apple iPod support pages a while back.

Unless you have Them saved on backup disk you are S.O.L Good luck it really is a pain in the behind trying to get all of your information back, not to mention all the time it will take. Call Apple and see if they have Idea's. Good Luck!!

you can create an image of your crashed hard disk and get back all lost information. don't worry.
