I have sighthounds, we are interested in doing lure coursing with them and want to find out what we need and where to get the euipment.

But you may want to start here: www.asfa.org or www.akc.org and contact some clubs to see if there are clubs in your area who may hold training practices (frequently their are practices after trials too but check with the club, this is not universal) This way you can see if you like it before spending $$$ on equpment and can learn about safe running .
You may also want to contact LGRA clubs www.lgra.org or Notra clubs www.notra.org since these sports are also a good intro to bunny-101 for a new dog

Ditto to Ragapples post! People at coursing trials are very friendly and will probably be happy to give you ideas for making your own equipment.
