Is there a need for an absolute truth?

I watched a film yesterday where this girl says...not all these churches can be right but they can't all be wrong, either. She also says...why did God make us so different if He wants us all to be the same?

There are many versions of the truth but only one absolute truth. Each journey will be different because we are all individuals and we should celebrate our diversity. In the end many of us will accept the truth and many of us will not.

For every truth there is a lie. For every lie there is the truth. For both lies and the truth there is our interpretation of it.

God's truth is the truth. Satan's lie is the lie. Everything else is our own unique perspective of the facts and fiction that we are faced with on a daily basis.

We disagree because we all assume that we are the one that knows the truth. Only God knows the truth and it is up to us to figure that out. Many of us call the truth a spirit or nature or Buddha or a church. I call the truth God. Whatever name we call IT...the truth is still the truth. Absolute, forever and into all eternity.

Not really, you can live your life just fine without it.

People disagree because it depends on the truth you are talking about. Everyonw has their own interpretation. Does this mean there can't be a real "ultimate truth"? Maybe. Or maybe we just haven't found it yet.
Monkeys get through life just fine without worrying about "ultimate truth" maybe we should be more like them.

Because a lot of people believe that truth is "relative" instead of being absolute. Most people would agree though that the "golden rule" is a form of absolute truth that they can adhere to...

Yes there is.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
