Jesus and God are the same entity , however God has a special ability that no other known being has of being able to physically seperate His attributes into three personas without ever deminishing any aspect of His being. He can litterally be as many places as He wishes at the same time. Although every incarnation of Himself is equal to His other persons He has established this order of respect : First the Father , then the Son (the Son still being as much God as the Father) , then the Holy Spirit. The Spirit and the Son worship the Father as the established head of thier being. We are instructed to pray to God in His Son's name , not to pray TO the Son specifically. This is because it was as the Son that God reconciled us to Himself. There is only one God - not three as some think Christians believe.

When I pray to God, it's to just talk to him and to ask for forgiveness for the wrong things I had done. It brings an inner peace to me when I do that. To the people who said that it proves that there isn't a trinity: how in the world DOES it prove that? Just because Jesus prayed to His Father doesn't mean that there isn't a trinity. And the praying through Jesus thing: the Bible says nobody can go to the Father except through me which means that nobody can go to Heaven except through Jesus. If you don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God and you don't believe that He died for your sins, you're going to Hell. God can hear your prayers anywhere, anytime.

According to some people on here - Jesus is/was God. If that's the case, how could he pray to himself? Some of you religious nutcases need to get your stories straight and your act together.

to put it into simple terms its like if president Bush went to England and kneeled before the Queen. Bush is still the president and he is still powerful but he kneels in front of her out of reverence. Likewise, Jesus and God are one in the same but Jesus prayed to Him and worshiped Him because He is the almighty Father.

That is a great question and great proof that there indeed is no existence of a trinity. Prayer helps us connect with God to ask for forgiveness, to share with him our feelings, to ask for others and the strength to continue during this horrible time known as the last days and all this through our mediator Jesus Christ. Everything is horrible out in the world and we have proof that we are living in these days in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 where it says:

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. "

Because Jesus Christ said, "I am the way and the truth and the light, no one goes through with going through me first." or something like that. It is like Jesus Christ is the gatekeeper for us and he then lets us in when we pray to God. I personnally like to think I am praying to God directly, but, I pray using Jesus Christ's name in order to get my prayers heard by God.
