If you have Windows XP, then use the hibernate option, and a program that can unhibernate it at a certain time. I don't know if there is an option in windows for that because i havent had a need for it. Try http://www.nonags.com for appropriate programs.

As said previously, if your computer is off ... only way to turn it on is to do so manually.

maximum of those solutions were what i develop into going to assert, so i have been beaten to the undergo be in a position to communicate. So on a extra lighter note, next time you close up down your gleaming computer, unplug each and every of the video demonstrate instruments, printers and scanners and so on, bypass upstairs with the tower (or computer) to the optimal window. Open the window huge, and with all of your might want to throw the computer out onto your confusing block paved rigidity. The deep excitement you'll receive through smashing to smithereens the evil gray one which controls our lives and sticking one finger as a lot as Mr Gates, will flow over you for some seconds. Then it is going to likely be "Oh sh*t, what have I performed!!" We ought to diminish ourselves off from this claw of all issues tekky, and revert to chalk and slate, even as adult males were adult males and also you receive hit with a large stick for stealing a potatoe.

If the PC is off, no progranm can run to wake it up.

Possibilities are "Wake on Lan" or "Wake on Modem".

Why not just leave it on all the time?
