It was an old car but the hurt won't go away. I feel so violated. They took it from right in front of my door. I try to forget it but I had so many little things in there that keeps reminding me. Like: all the dog food that I did not feel like caring in at the time I bought it and an umbrella I had since 1995, some molding for my porch, and lots of other little reminders. I just want the pain to stop.

It is natural to feel violated. Someone has taken something that belonged to you rather it be old or new. However, your time of morning is over. You should have purchased another car by now and have gone on with your life.

To remain in this puddle of "sorry me" is not healthy. Plus, if you like, take a look at how you are handling this situation. It will give you an ideal on how you handle problems in your life, if you don't like it, change it.

Umbrella since 1995, something is wrong here because you even know the year you purchased it. You may need to ask yourself, are you living a full life, do you have friends (not counting your dog), do you get out and spend time with others?

Take care of yourself !

P.S. Family, friends, co-workers help us all with our daily pain as we spend time with them laughing and talking.

Some a##hole stole my car 4 years ago and totaled it. It was my pride and joy as I took real good care of it. It was a Camaro z-28 with over 220,000 miles on it! I had it for 11 years. It was beautiful. These punks had it for less than 5 hours and destroyed it. It broke my heart and I am still bummed about it. Especially too cause the police didn't give a rat's a## about it. I hate thieves. I guess we get so bummed because we take it personally. Our cars are our friends in a lot of ways so it is like someone hurting a friend. I hope you feel better soon and I hope you get some good answers here. It seems that there are a lot of jerks answering your question in hurtful ways. Probably a bunch of thieves themselves... ((((HuGs))))

Utter nonsense. he's been fortunate and that's so a strategies because it gets. Why in the international might a Jamaican flag stop a motor vehicle getting nicked? i understand as properly as every person else approximately organised crime, yet having an Italian flag on a motor vehicle does not stop it getting stolen only using fact the Mafia are Italian. and that's Impreza.

It may not go away but it will lessen over time hon. I can tell that your car was special to you and to recognize it that it was is a good thing...It's ok babe! With all losses it does take time...just focus on what you have right now and let yourself remember the good times you had...maybe its in trying to shake them that makes the thoughts come on stronger.
My ex had this old beat up El Camino that he called his baby and at first I would just say, yeah right but he had some very good memories tied up in that car and I learned to respect his feelings...what you just said reaffirms that for me...you will be ok hon...just hang in there!

The heart ache you are describing sounds more like grief/loss issues. Ask yourself what the "loss" of this car means to you emotionally. Does it remind you of other losses? Does being robbed bring up other examples of you feeling "taken advantage" of? If you connect with those losses, the pain of this loss will soon abate...
