In an ESL class, what's the most imporant elements that should be taught?

Well, I suggest words that would be needed to work, maybe different foods, transportation, cleaning needs, Also slang terms and curse words...though I wouldnt teach them right off the bat! Also greeting words, thank you and good bye..etc. I would suggest that you teach them from the language they already know, if possible.

May greatest concern was to learn English. The best way is just talking. Grammar,etc, should come later. But most of the immigrants work in an environment where there is not contact with English speaking co-workers. But every body wants to learn.
