Sounds like depression. But what are you avoiding by staying in bed all day? You're not THAT tired day after day. When you figure out why you don't want to get up, then you can fix it.
You should see a doctor. Just remember, meds will only help so much. You need to get into counseling. If you never find the causes, you'll never get better.

There are several questions that need to be asked before this question can be answered.
1.) How old are you?
2.) What is your lifestyle?
3.) Do you have a family history of emotional problems?
4.) Are you male or female?
5.) Have you had your thyroid/heart checked?
If you are elderly, you may be feel more tired with aging. If not, then continue onto the next questions.
Are you stressed? What is your schedule like? Is there something emotionally bothering you? Stress is not good for your body and can increase the strain on all of your organs, therefore, making you feel more tired and needing sleep. This is also true for the brain.
If you have a family history of mental health issues, then you may want to see a psychiatrist for medication to help you relax.
If you are female, this may be due to changes in your hormones.
And lastly, if none of these things apply to you, it may be your thyroid is not functioning properly and you should have the levels checked as well as your heart.
A quick blood test can tell a lot. Hope this helps.

Hi,
It may not be a depression problem.
Your body could really be feeling too tired and overworked.
how old are you? Have you ever considered doing a detox?
My sister had a similar problem and would feel tired all the time even if she slept alot. She is much better now after doing a detox.
My 43 year old friend said he would often feel very tired at work and wish he could go home and sleep.. especially after lunch. But after he did a detox, he is now full of energy and would wake early to go for early morning walks.
if you are keen to find out more about the detox, email me at verityy@yahoo.com

I am so sorry... I had the same problem but since I have been taking meds it is only on occassion.. I was diagnosed bipolar..THAT MAY NOT BE YOUR PROBLEM...it could be anxiety, depression or as someone else said, something as little as thyroid or a cold coming on..I would talk with your doctor if it continues..I can tell you that they will want to know alot of details..keep a journal of moods/feelings/sleep/exercise habits for a few days..

Sounds like you need to have your doctor check you out. It could be a lot of different things. Maybe you have low thyroid, or something simple. If you don't have health insurance look into a clinic and go there. Sleeping all day can be many things try to get some insight into the problem Best of luck.

Actually it very well could be that you are depressed. Sleeping a lot is one of the signs of depression as well as the not know if you are happy or sad...a sort of leveling out of the emotions...that was one of my symptoms before I got help for my depression. You need to talk to your primary physician first and rule out any physical problems that may exist because there are some that might cause depression...if that is ruled out then you may want to seek therapy or try meds...Hope you get to feeling better soon!
