The Catholics break so many commandments of God that it's almost a joke. They do not follow the true word of God. They worship states, and pray to those other than God and His son Jesus. You do not confess your sins to a mortal man. for man cannot absolve you of your sins. Only Jesus can. . Catholics do not teach salvation through acceptance of Jesus as your savior. There is no purgatory, Heaven and hell.

I dont know anything about the Assembly of God church. I am a born again Chrisitan and a former catholic. Praise the Lord.

Very different. All Protestant churches are quite different from Catholicism, even though Catholicism is their roots. Assemblies of God are one of the more fundamentalist versions of protestantism, and is quite different from most mainline Protestant churches, let alone from the Catholic Church. They lack sacraments (other than baptism), a valid priesthood, universality, apostolicity, and real teaching authority, all of which are present in the Church Jesus Christ founded, the Holy Catholic Church.

Like night and day.
Strict formalism——wild informality
Belief in traditions——belief in only the Bible with deliberate disregard for tradition
Direction from a foreign central office through multilevel tiers of officers——local direction with little if any direction from outsiders, and them Americans.

the only basic differences are the way they each perform their rituals and ceremonies to honor, adore, worship GOD. Catholic Church is longer and more structured and the Assembly of God shorter and less structured.

Protestant and Catholic. Protests against the catholic world view and having to be submissive to them is actually what led to the growth of Islam and north-west europe's speed into industrialization.
