Is the dog okay? There's really nothing to do but sincerely apologize and pay for the vet bill and any subsequent care that the dog will need. Just show her that you are truly sorry and that it was an accident, and that you did the best you could by getting the dog treated and cared for properly.

If you took your cousins dog for a walk and let it off the leash and it ran out and got hit by a car, you will have to tell your cousin and you should pay the vet bill since it was totally your fault.

i'm sorry is the only thing u can say. Hopefully if u ever have the responibility of another dog [or any pet for that matter] u will be much more alert and responsible. I assume the dog hasn't died and u don't have to live with that. take ur yelling at like a grown up and then do it, grow up.

As much as it may kill you or your cousin to hear; ACCIDENT'S HAPPEN!!! As an animal lover, I can understand your cousin's anger, because I would be upset, too! You just have to accept that the dog was your responsibility. That's probably the very best thing that you can do at this point. She should understand that it wasn't your fault - or, at least - not intentionally. I hope the dog is okay and everything works out.

you are not to be blame for it. just tell her what happen and say you are sorry. if she love the dog, then she will cry a little. if you want, get her a new dog. if you can get one that looks like the old one. sometime you can't do that because it will hurt there feeling because the dog will remind them of there old one. but a new dog or puppy's can make her happy. you can look in the paper or at a dog place. hope I help a little!

tell your cousin what happened. it was not your fault. dogs a prown for chasing cars. it's their drive instinct. some breeds are worse than others. this dog has to go to the vet. wouldn't want it to die in your care!! if they love there dog they will probably be will to pay the bill. if not at least half the bill. that is reasonable!!!

There is not much you can do besides say you are truly sorry, and offer to pay for the vet or get her a new dog if she wants one.

Own up to your mistake. Even though it was an accident, you were responsible for taking care of the dog.

i would just say to your cousin that it was an accident and you have taken the dog to the vet to be looked over and telling your cousin that if she wants you to you can foot the vet's bill yourself if it makes her feel better. thats what i would tell her anyway.
