Here's some advice on a natural way to lose weight:

* To lose 1 pound per week (which is the recommended and healthy way to lose), you need to cut 3,500 calories a week. The easy approach would be to cut 500 calories off per day for seven days.

* Carbs/sugar turn into fat if not burned properly, ie, exercise. Sugar is basically known to be an appetite stimulant, so keep away from sugary treats.

* Stay away from anything that contains Partially Hydrogenated or Hydrogenated Fats.

* Do not purchase anything with "sugar", "high fructose corn syrup", etc., if it is within the first five ingredients on the label.

* Drink plenty of WATER. Water keeps you full.

* Be sure to eat foods high in antioxidants and get your recommended daily dose of vitamins. Vitamin D 400 IU and Folic Acid 800 mcg are critical.

* Exercise: Run and weight train. Muscle helps burn fat more efficiently.

When cutting calories from your diet, please do not cut out "good" calories, those from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. Cut calories from non-essential foods such as potato chips, soda, candy, alcoholic beverages, etc.

Is that 10 miles per DAY or 10 miles per WEEK? If it's per DAY and you cut your caloric intake by 500 calories per DAY, then you should lose approx. 3 - 4 pounds in 2 weeks.
