Well ... you can live your whole life without a relationship ... and it is normal ... yet unnecessary. Relations are fun and you shouldn't pass on opportunity :).

P.S.
But it's still normal to stay alone for a year ... depends the way you broke your last relationship ...

Well, I had been an abusive relationship with my x-husband for 10 years. Finally, i decided i had enough and left and got a divorce. At that time, I said that I would never, never get into another relationship much less get married again. So, i was not looking for anybody but I met someone. and, sure enough after 3 months, i had an engagement ring on my finger (this was about 6 months after my divorce was final). In another 3 months, i was married again. SO, 9 months after the divorce was final, i was re-married. So, I guess to answer your question, NO, it was not possible for me anyway. I am glad it happened that way now. My current husband is the most wonderful man in the world. We are going on 5 years now. We have a baby and he is a great dad! There is no doubt in my mind that God has his hand in our meeting because neither of us were looking for anyone and we ended up together. We are definately soulmates.

Heck... I am 22 and my last real relationship was back when I was 19. So in a way... I could do it. I mean, I've dated and such but just haven't found the person that I really like. If i want to, I can definitely have a relationship but that would just mean I am settling for less. Ofcourse I want a relationship but I'd rather wait than be in one just for the sake of being in one. I perfer to wait.

I believe that it is very possible to spend a year without a relationship. I actually think that it is more fun to go on dates with many of my male friends rather than to commit to one of them. But the flip side is, if you do fall in love don't let that go.

I'm into two and a half years without being in a relationship.

It has been good for me both personally and professionally not to be in a relationship right now. I don't need all of the drama.

I always thought you enter a relationship then fall in love, usually the relationships are more fun, then love comes along and screws up everything

YES. I have done it on many different occasion's. Sometimes, two and three years at a time. Because,I have been HURT,on many different occasions. Now a days. LOVE is just a WORD,not a FEELING,or an emotion, any more.
So, now I have a relationship, with one person.
This person, will never HURT you. This person, will always be by your side.
HE IS,OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

I wish I could, then I could learn to be me.

Sounds trite but I hope I'll be able to be that way someday.
It's easier to fall IN love that OUT of love, that's the hard part.

Yes

I did it for two years. I enjoy me, I loved being stress free, I enjoyed building solid friendships, I enjoyed do things I wanted to do.. Taking time out to enjoy you and learn something new about yourself is normal.
