They don't, the only way they will know you son is not suppose to have passengers is if they look at his license. So as long as he is not stopped they will never know.

It's only a secondary offense. The kid must be pulled over for something else before he can be given a ticket for breaking the law. I live in Colorado and just turned 18, the law went into effect just as I got my license. I drove with other teens in my car all the time, but it was okay because I drove safely and never gave cops a reason to pull me over, so I have yet to receive a ticket.

your son must have his provisional license, witch restricts that. so the cops wont kno unless they pull him over, if they do they usually just give him a fine or sometimes they take away licenses, it depends on what state u live in.

If they are pulled over, in which all first years drivers are, they will be ticketed, you are the parent, tell the driver don't do it. Check the rules. other licensed drivers may be OK. or siblings may be OK.
