You can start the weaning process by 4 - 5 weeks (it really helps the mother out). Moisten good quality puppy chow with warm water and offer it to the puppies twice a day in the beginning. Give them about 15 minutes to eat, then let the mom eat the rest. Give them fresh water several times a day too to get them started drinking. By the time they're 6 weeks, they can be totally weaned.

Hiya, I work at a rescue and at the moment we have 9 seven week old puupies. They came in at five weeks old and they had already left their mother, and they all survived. From around five weeks old you can start giving them meat such as Butcher's or Winalot Puppy. Also, in a separate bowl give them some nutro or hills science plan puppy biscuits. They should be taken away from their mum at 8 weeks old.

the weaning process should start at six weeks and the mother dog has to b separated from the pups to insure it. if u don't separate them she will do it herself over time but it will probably take longer.

about 6-8 weeks you can start to offer them soft foods. That will help them to fill their belies and they will start to wean themselves.
